At The Green Dog, we'll teach you how to get your dog on a balanced training program that fits into your urban lifestyle.

Besides exercise and positive training methods, it's important to help you teach your dog how to live in a human household and more importantly - how to live the city life. Whether you live in New York City, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island or any of the other New York areas, the challenges you face will be very different from someone who lives in a suburban area.

Learning to communicate with your dog is the first step in building a positive relationship and getting the kind of dog you long for. With the right program, you can have a happy, healthy dog. You'll come away with an understanding very different from when you first started. And as you train, the bond with your dog will grow stronger than ever!

At The Green Dog, we find that a combination of modern methods can get the best results in a shorter amount of time than any one training methodology. Because of this, we know a variety of training methods and have access to a huge network of trainers with varying specialties and skills.

We can help you get your dog comfortable around buses, crowds and other dogs. Maybe you're just looking for some basic obedience... no jumping, barking or leash pulling. Perhaps you have a new puppy and need help with housebreaking - we can help with that too! If finding the time to train your dog is difficult, as it is with most working people, in addition to our In Home private lessons, we also offer a two-week Board & Train program. In this program, we board your dog for two weeks, and he or she will come home with all the basic training done for you. When it comes time for the family vacation, don't worry - we provide boarding services for our clients as well.

Lisa Long, the owner and head trainer is committed to helping dog owners get a better understanding of their dogs and their needs. Her goal is to make your dog a responsible member of your family! As an CPDT-KA certified trainer, she will be your coach for the life of your dog and be there with you every step of the way... long after the lessons are over!

Private Dog Training Session

We'll set up a custom program tailored to the areas of training you would like to focus on. Whether it's greeting people calmly at the door or learning how to socialize at the dog park, we can teach you the tools to train your dog. We offer In Home lessons where we come to your home weekly. This is where we work with you on how to teach your dog basic manners.
